Let’s now look at how they work.
External (French Patio Doors)
French doors that open outwards lead to the outside, usually into the garden. These doors open normally outwards, but some can be opened inwards. These doors feature large glass panels that let natural light in to brighten your home.
Internal
French doors inside the interior look very similar to exterior French doors. Two doors, mostly made of glass, open up to create more living space.
Double French doors can be installed between two rooms of your home to create more space. They will allow for more light and create a stylish separation between the two rooms.
Slide
The sliding French doors are a timeless design with a lot of charm. The doors open in a sliding fashion, rather than swinging open. Instead of opening up, they slide apart and allow for ample space to pass through to the garden. Fixed panes of glass on either side of the sliding doors allow for the doors to overlap when opened.
You might be wondering how this differs from a sliding patio door. Sliding patio doors have two sides. One side is fixed, the other can slide parallel to it. This creates an opening that opens to the outside. You can only pass through half the space these doors take up, so they are often used as an additional doorway into and out of your home.
